Day 2

I skipped a workout on Monday but was back at it today. This morning I did ten minutes of kettle ball. I wasn't prepared to do more but couldn't find the DVD. After work I went out and watered the horses which involved digging and dragging the hoses out of the knee high snow drifts. I then snow blowed a portion of the driveway and shoveled the walk. I was sweating when I came in so I know I got some good cardio in.

My goal for tomorrow is to do a kettle ball workout after I weigh in at Weight Watchers. If I am too tired I am not going to sweat it.

Day 1

Today as a start to my fitness adventure I strapped on the show shoes I bought myself as a birthday gift back in December and walked, or snow shoed around the feild next to our house. This last week we had a lot of snow dropped on our place. Not nearly as much as others south of us recieved, but it was enough to make the going pretty hard. On top of that there were drifts to break through. So I had a VERY good workout.

My older dog went with me and despite being eleven years old he was able to keep up with me. I stopped and cleaned out his paws at one point and helped him through the barbed wire fence at another point. He also thought it might be easy going walking directly behind me. After getting hit in the jaw about 20 times he changed his mind and made his own tracks. Silly old boy!

As I made my way back towards the house, the horses came out to greet me. I was able to pet all three through the fence. I guess the snow shoes weren't as scary to them as my skiis have been in the past.

Not suprising, with the amount of snow we have recieved this year, I did not see lots of signs of wildlife. A few deer tracks, but that was it.

Overall it was a great start to my Fitness Journey, hard, satisfying and yet refreshing!
